Ora-Allagis... oh boy, where do I even begin about her?

I had the displeasure of knowing this artist from October/November 2017 to June 2019, so about two years… give or take a few weeks. At first glance, she may seem like a nice person with incredible art, but come June, or when you ask her about her “opinion” on the LGBTQIA+ community, it will come down to one of two things: she either makes fun of people who use pronouns (which, ironically, includes herself) or tells queer people that they’re sinning and that they’re “going to Hell” when they die, both of which she has done. She also throws a huge hissy fit whenever someone wishes her a Happy Pride Month, which is when the latter has happened, and she also threw a huge fit when my friend called her out on her homophobic behavior.

But let’s fast forward to now, where I notified another person about her homophobic behavior after I brought up my personal qualms with her to them. They told me that after she soft-blocked them on Twitter, her queerphobic behavior has gotten much, MUCH worse.

And the worst part? She’s Christian and Jewish. Meaning that while she is religiously Christian, she is ethnically Jewish. And I don’t know about you, but if I recall correctly, being homophobic goes against the beliefs of both the Bible and the Torah. Jesus/Yahweh (same person, different name for Christianity/Judaism) made friends with people who were outcasted by society and helped out people, no matter what his circumstances were. Ora-Allagis is the exact opposite of him because she belittles anyone who isn’t White, cisgender/heterosexual, middle-class, conservative, neurotypical, Christian… you get my drift already about who she is. She’s not the nice person you think she is underneath her placated façade of kindness.

And I had to leave the Sonic fandom in 2020/2021 because of her. I stopped being friends with her in June of 2019, because I was afraid of her finding out I was queer and what would ensue afterward (first I labeled myself as bi, and at that point, I’d labeled myself as pansexual, back when I was forced into identifying as a cis woman). I left all servers she was in and blocked her on deviantArt, still have her blocked to this day. And while I adore the friends I’ve made during my time in the Sonic fandom, I feel that as long as she’s still around, I will never be welcome back in the fandom again. Most of the Sonic fans I’ve met were either queer or queer allies, but she was quite the exception to both of those. She’s still unabashedly queerphobic and loves shoving it in the faces of anyone who asks her about her “opinion” on us queer people. Or making fun of us, which is what she did on Twitter. Her gender, in her Twitter bio, was listed as “propane grill” and she had “pees/poos” listed as pronouns. If that doesn’t scream DIRECT MOCKERY, I don’t know what does.

If you’re reading this and you think it’s unfair for me, a queer, neurodivergent person, to paint her in such a light like this, then try experiencing what I’ve experienced because of her bigotry. - Kaedynce
